Compilation of different solutions here:-Graphics Card Drivers- Open your Nvidia or AMD catalyist window- go to drivers and check for any updates for your graphics card. Just to be clear, this is a guide for everyone who has black screen issues in the Battlefront Beta. It doesn't matter how good of a PC/CPU/GPU you have, these issues seem to hit a lot of people just the same, whether they have a very good computer or not.
Follow each and EVERY ONE of these steps to the T, and it should solve your black screen issues.Alright, I have solved the issue, for myself at least. No more black screen on start up. I have tried everything everyone else posted, didn't help.
But after a couple hours of troubleshooting and my entire computer basically committing suicide, I have solved this.First, windows 7 users, make sure you have 'Windows Service Pack 1' installed. To check, click the start button at the bottom left with the windows flag go to Computer, at the top there will be 5 tabs that say ' Organize, Properties, System Properties, Uninstall or change a program, Map network drive' then two arrows pointing to the right for more commands. Click on 'System Properties' from there you should see whether or not you have 'Service Pack 1' installed. If you cant find it or don't know where to find it, google it.Second, install the latest NVidia/AMD driver, for NVidia users it should be 358.50 that came out specifically for the battlefront beta.

Get this update from GeForce Experience which should already be downloaded for you if you have an NVidia GeForce GPU. For AMD users, I don't know where you would go, but I do know there is a driver specifically for the Battlefront Beta as well, find it and update your drivers.Next, uninstall origin, go to control panel, if you have windows 7, at the bottom you should see uninstall a program, uninstall it completely. Then go to Origin's website, if you don't know it just google Origin, should find it easily. Reinstall origin on your PC. It wont delete your games so do not worry about losing anything other than the origin program itself.Open origin once reinstalled, go to 'My Games' make sure nothing is running, as far as games go, right click on the Battlefront Beta. Go to game properties, type ONLY this: '-novid'(without the quotations of course) typing anything else will only prolong the black screen issue, I know, you have probably read to type '-novid -noborder -windowed' well don't.
It will only further screw things up. Simply type '-novid' with a space after it so it registers.
Then check off 'Disable Origin in game for this game.' Make sure that is checked off. Then click 'OK'.After those steps are done, make sure you have any and all IM (instant message) programs closed out (ie.
Skype, Steam. Especially Steam. TeamSpeak, Hamachi. Etc.) if you are not sure if they are fully closed out hold CTRL+ALT+DEL until the security options come up, click on 'Start Task Manager' then at the top of task manager there should be multiple tabs you can click on. Click on 'Processes' scroll until you find Skype's processes, teamspeak's, Hamachi's, and steam's, steam will have multiple, make sure you right click and click 'End Process Tree' for each of these IM programs.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 Gameplay
They screw with origin, and take up a lot of CPU while in game, and will prolong the black screen issue by anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.Once closed, and made sure these are closed, go ahead and delete your shortcut for the Battlefront Beta. It is useless mainly because it will only ever try to open up full screen, and will give you a black screen. Might also cause the Battlefront Beta to stop responding altogether while you are in a full screen blackscreen. Just delete it or don't use it.Open up origin, go to 'My Games' right click on the Battlefront Beta and click play. If it works for you in full screen then bravo, you've done it. No more black screen. (Just don't use the Shortcut, it will screen everything up) unfortunately for me, it still doesn't.
So wait out the black screen if you can, for a good 20 minutes, if it still doesn't open then close it out using task manager. If it does open after a long and annoying black screen, then go to 'Settings' in game, click on 'Video', and go down to where it says either 'Fullscreen', 'Windowed borderless' or 'Windowed'.If it is on either 'Fullscreen' or 'Windowed Borderless' the switch it to 'Windowed' then click back. It may or may not give you a black screen, if you were on full screen it will give you a black screen but don't worry too much, it will eventually respond again, just be patient and wait it out.As long as you've only typed into game properties '-novid' then once its windowed you should be perfectly fine. Just to test it out, Quit out of the game, DO NOT USE THE SHORTCUT! I cannot stress that enough, for the love of God do not use the shortcut. Like I said, just delete it. Remember this beta isn't going to last forever, so hopefully this is the only time we will have to deal with this annnnnnoooooyyyying bug in the game.
Once the game is out you can probably use the shortcut again, but for now, DONT.Anyways, Open up origin, go to 'My Games' right click the Battlefront Beta, and click 'Play'. The game should open up right away, without any black screen issues, and as long as you only typed '-novid' and nothing else into game properties, and switched it to 'Windowed' in the games settings, you should be able to move the windowed game wherever you'd like on your screen, as well as click the box in between the minimize and exit buttons to basically have it full screen, without any black screen issues because it will still be windowed. This should solve your Battlefront Beta problems.Hope this helps anyone with annoying Black Screen issues.
