Since we had no room to hold our Service of Celebration, we combined both events (Service of Celebration and Convocation) into one ceremony, held at the beautiful Concert Hall in Wilson Hall across the street. In a sense, we’re glad that we were forced to do something different, because it allowed us to have just one event that was very meaningful to us. Next year, we just may hold it in the same place, but the reception will be in our brand new Great Hall! Congrats to all our graduates, more photos from the evening will be posted soon! One of the main reasons why we are updating our building is to ensure that we can accommodate students and visitors who need special ways of accessing our building. Until now, we have had two accessibility ramps—however they have been on opposite sides of the building, so this required going outside and around the building to access the whole building! We have watched with wonder how quickly these new ramps have been built and the care that the architect and construction workers have taken to ensure that the slant is correct and safe.

Firstly, we learned that where there is a chair, preferably one covered in material, someone will grab it and climb up on it with muddy and/or paint-covered boots. Secondly, painters march to a different drummer. We have paint in places that we shouldn’t have paint, and, the most surprising of all, a temporary sticker on a doorway that was painted around with great care!

😆 We appreciate all their hard work and are happy to be partway through!
